Lately, I’ve been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent to my clients by someone impersonating me and my business, Computer Artistry. These messages are not from me, and they are part of a phishing scam designed to deceive recipients into thinking their Wix websites are in danger.
What’s Happening
The scammer is using my name, photo, company name, and Wix Partner credentials to make their emails appear legitimate. They’re also using the Wix logo and official-looking language to trick people into believing the message is from an authorized source.
The emails typically claim that your website is “at risk of being taken offline” or “not licensed properly with Wix,” and that you need to take immediate action. Some emails are also claiming that your site isn't safe with a subject line such as: "Re: Ensuring Your Wix Site Stays Fast & Reliable" They may ask you to reply, click a link, or provide payment to “secure your site.”
These emails are fake and not affiliated with me or Wix in any way. I would never contact you in this manner or request sensitive information by email.
How to Identify a Scam Email
Here are a few signs that an email is fraudulent:
The sender’s email address is not one of my official addresses: tarasigns@gmail.com or tara@computerartnv.com.
The message uses urgent or threatening language about your website being “at risk.”
It includes suspicious links or requests for payment.
The email may use my name and photo, but the tone feels off or overly pushy.

This is a screenshot from a fraudulent email that created this signature block to look like my business. You can tell it's not me by the use of all caps in my name, using the Wix logo and also the grey-white box around the image.
If you receive one of these emails, please do not click any links or reply. Instead, mark it as phishing or spam and delete it immediately. If you are unsure, please reach out to me at tarasigns@gmail.com and I can verify if it's a scam or not. Here is the Wix scam and phishing emial you can report it to: reportphishing@wix.com
What I’m Doing About It
I’ve reported this impersonation to Google and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), and I’ve alerted Wix muliptle times about the misuse of their name and logo. I’ve also posted updates on my social media pages to help spread awareness.
This has been frustrating and upsetting, not only for me but also for the clients who have been confused or alarmed by these messages. I take your trust seriously, and I’m doing everything I can to ensure your peace of mind and security.
How You Can Verify My Communications
If you ever receive an email that seems suspicious, you can always verify it by:
Checking the sender email address.
Contacting me directly through tarasigns@gmail.com or tara@computerartnv.com.
